Coital Alignment Technique

MediumRomantic & close
Illustration: Coital Alignment Technique

A variation of the face-to-face position in which the partner on top shifts their body slightly higher and both move with a slow, rocking motion rather than in-and-out movement. It is often recommended for more shared pleasure and closeness.

How it feels

Slow, full-body, and very connected. Less about speed, more about rhythm and contact.

Comfort tips

  • Move together in a gentle rocking rhythm; it takes a little practice to find.
  • Keep most of your weight on your knees and elbows rather than on your partner.

Talk about it

Give feedback with simple words: 'slower', 'there', 'like that'.

Take care

  • If it feels awkward at first, that's normal. Laugh about it and try again another time.

Always go at a pace that feels good for both of you, and stop if anything hurts. This guide is educational and not a substitute for medical advice.
